After a comfortable away win at Preston, Villa are back at Villa Park this Saturday as they take on Sheffield Wednesday. To get the lowdown on the Owls, I’ve asked @wednesdayite writer @pahowl.

wednesdayite.com is a fan run site for all things Sheffield Wednesday. The website has been going for more than eight years and their twitter page is followed by the likes of Henry Winter and FourFourTwo.

What were your expectations for Sheffield Wednesday going into the season?

Expected to be in play off places pushing for top two, but we have fallen short of this so far.

How would you rate your season so far out of 10 and why?

6 – we have been inconsistent, playing well against teams that pass the ball but struggling against teams who defend well and break.

Which Sheffield Wednesday players should Villa be wary of?

Barry Bannan – a livewire, very skilful creative midfield player, who can also shoot with power from distance.

If you were Carlos Carvalhal and had to sign one Aston Villa player for the Owls, who would it be?

Conor Hourihane, we tried to sign him from Barnsley to keep the pairing with Sam Winnall. Hourihane is a very creative and hardworking midfielder.

Where do you see Villa finishing this season and why?

I think you will make an automatic return to the Premier League, finishing second. You have the squad to do it now without having to add to your team, so will be settled come January.

Score prediction for Saturday?

2-1 to Wednesday, you play a style of football which we do well against.
